UPDATE** from Vacation

Hello Folks! I'm enjoying my vacation..My favorite part is not having to wake up in the middle of the night! (I get up at 3:30am every day)..So I've loved that! I went home last Monday and got ready for Christmas. On Wednesday we were supposed to get a big snow-storm, and boy did we! I got up at 4am to let the dogs out, and it was blowing and snowing SO hard that I couldn't even see in front of me!

I woke up that morning around 7am and had to take the trash out..But it was so white, and blowing so hard that I could barely walk! The wind was blowing 50mph out West! Blargh! I hate wind! Once it finally quit blowing we had snow-drifts on the side of our house, and on the barn that were 10 feet high! It was quite a site..Even the poor cattle had snowy faces!
We couldn't make if far, even though Steve had the Tractor with the front-end loader going..He and Randy were trying to go feed cattle, but the snow was blowing so hard, that the drifts from East to West were Intense.. You could go anywhere North to South, but East to West was a nightmare! So we just built a big ol fire, and began cooking for Christmas dinner.
Christmas day was not as bad..The wind had died down, and the sun was melting off some of the snow, so I went to see my dad, Kirby in Sentinel and had lunch with them. We had a good time, and the roads weren't too bad. Then Christmas night we had a bunch of family come over for a big feast. I saw a lot of my cousins that I had not seen in forever, and we all had a great time playing the Wii.. (Randy & I got the WII for Chrismtas! Woo hoo!).. So over all we had a great Christmas time!
I stayed in Canute till yesterday..Yesterday was pretty much crap. I got a flat on the Turnpike, and couldn't exit off until I got to Council..so I drove with my hazzards on to the tire place. Thankfully I made it without bending my tire RIM. They put on the spare, and I drove home to get my extra tire (I had saved one from when I replaced all my tires awhile back) and they put that one on, and I had to order a new $165 tire.. I swear I'm just not meant to have money! The Saturday before that I paid $430 to the vet for checkups, shots, vaccines, and flea prevention for the dogs.. so Bye Bye Christmas money!! After I got the new tire on I drove home to find my drive-way snow packed, and there was no way to get into my garage..so a man stopped by when he saw me trying to flick snow away and offered to shovel the drive for me.. We made a big enough path, and I gave him $30 for his efforts and sent him on his shoveling way!
More about my adventures, the dogs, and the Wii tomorrow..Right now I'm off to the mall! Be careful!
Oh, the picture of the dogs is my brothers dog Page (from left to right) Payslee, Izzabell (Mom's border collie puppy) Sawyer & Rally!

Vacation begins, & Therapy Fun

Well its been a busy busy week! Sorry for lagging behind here.. Monday I took Payslee to a therapy visit at Sterling house in Edmond..She was awesome! She just loves doing it, and I love taking her. This little lady just picked her up and cuddled her and Payslee just stared sweetly at her..I'm so proud of my Payslee biscuit!

Yesterday we had TWO therapy visits. At 2:00 I took Paylsee to Bradford Village in Edmond. I sang some gospel songs mixed with some Christmas tunes. The folks were awesome, and even though I was singing, they really just LOVED Payslee the best..She would twirl and dance for people, and do her 'high five' trick, and of course was wearing her Santa Claus dress...They were just in love with her!! She was funny while I was singing, because she just sat patiently and watched me, and then when I was finished she would go visit people. She's a good girl..

Well since Pays went during the day, I knew she would be tired so I let Sawyer go on our visit last night. We were going to the Fountains Assited living. 3 other therapy dogs went with us, and we LOVED the Fountains. They had some of the sweetest people! Sawyer did MUCH better this time. He was a lot friendlier, and sweeter.. I had him in his Santa Saw outfit, but he kept walking weird like his leg was falling off, so I had to take it off him..The people loved him because he is so soft and puffy. So I'm proud of him too..He doesn't love it as much as Pays, but hopefully he will grow to like it more and more as he does it..I may try to setup some visits for him to see Kids..I think he would love kiddos..

Wednesday my stupid TV quit again.. BLARGH. I have no idea whats wrong with it now..But I've given up on it..When Lynn & Debbie got married they had an extra TV, so I'm going to buy a 52' LCD High def TV from Lynny..I'm excited to get it..I love electronics!!
I'm having my annual "KC Sheperd Christmas Party" tomorrow..I've invited a bunch of folks over, and my parties are always interesting because there are obnoxious radio people, normal people, loud people, and odd people..so yes, it should be entertaining.. Then after that I'll probably head west to the farm for Christmas fun.
Lynn and I are on vacation till January 5th, so try to keep Bill in line..I'll try to update the blog from the farm if anything exciting happens.. You all have a very Merry Christmas, and thank you so much for being great listeners, friends, and your overall awesomeness of reading this blog, and actually caring about my life!! Love you guys!

Excellent evening !

Last night I took Payslee on a therapy visit to Sterling House in Edmond..It was cold outside, but she warmed the hearts of the residents! This little lady in the picture just scooped her up and starting loving on her, and Pays just sat there loving her back..That picture is the cutest thing ever! I love how Payslee just looks at her so sweetly..She's a good girl.

I did drive past the Christmas lights house that I talked about before..I'm pretty sure its at the Corner of 192nd & Santa Fe, and its pretty amazing, so if you ever drive that way, check it out.. Then I went and met my Step-mom and Sister for Supper at the Pepperoni Grill..Yum. Still happy to say that I have lost 21 pounds. We walked yesterday, even though it was miserable outside..The babes needed their exercise! So we did our usual mile freezing the whole way!! Thank goodness for IPODS!

Then I got home and thought I would put out a few more lights, only to notice that someone had STOLEN my Metal Christmas tree from my front yard! What Toolie Toolertons!! I can't believe that! Its not like I live in a bad neighborhood!! GEESH..Dang ol'Grinches!!

Okay, I've had some folks asking me what songs are on the Gospel CD, so here you go:
1) Amazing Grace (duet with my dad)
2) Thank You
3) Paid In Full
4) Just a Little Talk with Jesus
5) Peace in the Valley
6) Go Rest High on that Mountain

One week and counting...

Can you believe that as of today we are exactly two months away from Valentines day..Ahh thanks for the friendly reminder..So not only do I not have a New Years date, but you want to remind me about Valentines day? Not cool..Not cool..

Anyway, I had a fabulous weekend. I went to the farm with the dog babes, and Lajeana our groomer came over with her Giant Schnauser, Georgia..They had so much fun Playing! Sawyer loves playing more than anything so Sawyer, Georgia, and Izzy (mom's dog) ran and ran till I thought their tongues were going to fall out! Miss Payslee was of course, "OUT" on this whole situation, and asked me to just carry her around while they were rough-housing. She doesn't like a lot of flailing dogs around her, so she was perfectly content with me just carrying her.. She's my goat. The good news is that whether they play, or don't..they CRASH when we go home because their minds have been running all day. That is a picture of Pays on the way home last night...She was a sleepy girl.
Yesterday we went to Church at the Cowboy Church in Sayre, and Andy gave an awesome sermon. And then Last night I invited Mom & Dad up to go to my Church's (Crossings Community Church on Portland) Christmas Sing-a-long..It was soo awesome! Our choir and orchestra there is just amazing. They have a full orchestra that played songs like Manheim Steamroller! So good! The choir leader did a piano solo that just made your heart sing! We loved it!!
Its supposed to get cold again tomorrow..Good thing I brought 4 giant firewood logs from home (I'll probably never get them to stay lit since my dad cut them a bit too big for my fireplace..but hey, thats not the point) to keep me warm. Tonight I'm meeting my step-mom, Joni for dinner, and before that Payslee & I have a therapy visit at Sterling House in Edmond. I'll drive by that amazing light display again, so I'll try to write down the exact address so everyone can see it..Speaking of, I did get my Christmas lights put out..I'm going to add a few more today..Hope you all had an amazing weekend!!

Happy Friday Weekend Fun

Well the Dogs and I are headed West this weekend. I haven't got to see the Elk City Christmas Park lights Spectacular, and its one of the best in the state, so I think we will do that. I've also got to take some Christmas presents back to folks, so it will be a fun weekend.

I have Sawyer a bath yesterday, and he was so fluffy and puffy that while he was walking around I said to myself, "If he were not mine, I would totally steal him from whoever had him".. And thats true..He's so cute! He will be excited to go to the farm and play with his BFF Izzy, the Aussie..He loves to play so much!

Mom is making Eggnog This weekend, and I'm going to help her wrap Christmas presents.. You all have a Happy Weekend!

Brr..Baby, its cold outside!

Yesterday was a boot Weather day..That wind was a bit ridiculous, but other than that..it was an amazing day!

Yesterday was Payslee's first therapy visit to Norman Regional Hospital. She was asked to be a part of a therapy team, which is pretty awesome since she is barely a year old. I can honestly say,(and not just because she's mine)she did AWESOME! I was so proud of that little girl! The way it works is that the nurses bring in the patients who are working on Physical Therapy, or Speech therapy into the therapy room, and instead of doing their usual work they get to work with the dogs. So they take turns brushing the dogs, throwing the ball, petting, combing, leashing, etc..It helps them work on their coordination and they just love it! Payslee was just supposed to observe yesterday, but she was hamming it up in her Santa dress and matching bow! So all the patients kept asking for her..and she would go to them, and lay down and wait for them to talk sweet to her, and then she would let them pet her, or she would dance around for them..She is so flipping cute! Then we went around to individual rooms for the folks that couldn't get out and walk around, and Pays just sat there on their beds and got some loving, and gave kisses! Yay Pays! We will go back again next month.
Well as you can see from the pics to the left, I put the babes in their Christmas Attire..Sawyer was quite a jolly Santa baby..He keps smiling so big that he looked like a lion! He truly is a Jolly, Happy Soul.. So I posed them on the couch, and of course they just sat there, since they are little Christmas hams! Sawyer's outfit had a little hat, but when I put it on him it smashed his face, so I left it off..
After the therapy visit yesterday, Lauren & I went to Crossings Church for another amazing class. This one was called "The Historical Christmas" and talked about how little we know about the actual birth of Jesus, and how we've just pretty much "made up" a lot of our current Christmas traditions..Like Santa Claus coming down the Chimney..We know that Santa is loosely based on the Saint Nicholas who handed out gifts..But why do we put trees in our house? Why do we string lights? Whats up with the Candy Canes? It was a facinating class, and I just love the classes there.. There is another set coming up in January that I'm going to take..
I don't remember if I've posted this or not..but this is the Commerical that my mom is using in Elk City..Its for Great Plains National Bank. This is my mom, Robbie, and her 5 year old therapy dog, Junior..Its amazing what you can get dogs to do with a piece of chicken!! haha! Stay Warm folks!

Trace Adkins & Martina Fabulousness!

Well Trace was AMAZING as usual.. He puts on SUCH a great show.. Mom loves him so much, that it was just fun watching her love him!! If you have not seen Trace, he makes it enjoyable for both the guys & the gals..I'm pretty sure the women love the Trace Gyrating more than the men do..but the men enjoy that Hot Mama Video, so it all evens out in the end.. lol.. We had a blast! By the way, if you want to see all the Trace Adkins/Martina McBride concert pics, you can go to TRACE ADKINS CONCERT PICS!

We had our Tyler Christmas party on Friday night at the Harn Homestead..Geesh! It was cold Friday night! The Happy news is that I won something!! Hooray! Its the first time I've ever won something at the Christmas party!!

Then on Saturday Morning Lynn & I got up early to host the Cowboy Christmas Parade in the stockyards. It was a cold morning, but we had a great crowd! Santa was there in his sleigh for the kiddos, and I LOVED watching the Longhorns walk down the streets!

After the Parade I waited on Mom to come up and then we went to eat Sush at "In the Raw" in bricktown. We had never been before, and it was delish..I, Of course, had Sushi..They had other stuff though, noodle bowls, steaks, etc..It was yummy..Mom and I split 3 really good Sushi rolls..I swear I could eat Sushi everyday!

After delicous Sush, we headed to the Ford Center to see Trace and Martina! When Mom met Trace he told her she looked very "Yellow" and that made her laugh, so thats why she is laughing in the pic..but look how pretty my mom is!! Of course Trace was awesome on stage, and even did a little Christmas music! He sang "Chestnutts Roasting on an Open fire" and it was tremendous.

Martina came out wearing lots of jewels, so I was pumped about that..She had on a Sequin Vest, and sequin shoes! She didn't do any Christmas music, but she sang "Lean on Me" and that was cool..She also rode a giant moon out into the crowd and then she sang to the back of the Ford Center which was nice for the folks in the back..That girl can SING..Every song she sings when she gets finished you are like, "Wowza..what a voice".. It was a great show.

Mom stayed the night with me and on Sunday we were on a shopping mission. We got quite a bit of it done at Burlington Coat Factory, and then we headed to Penn Square for a bit..I've only got a couple of folks left to buy for, so I'm doing pretty good..Guess what I found at Burlington? A Santa outfit for Sawyer!! I KNOW! I'm so excited..I'm going to try to pose those babes this afternoon for some Christmas Cuteness!! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!! XXOO

Friday is here for Christmas parade fun!

Well Hello! Geesh its cold outside! Went walking again yesterday and I just can't get used to the freezing air going into my lungs! But I still have to go..over a mile..each dang day, because Payslee wants to RUN the whole way!!

Well Yesterday I took Sawyer to Sterling house Assisted Living, and we had a good visit. Several of the other therapy dogs showed up, and Saw didn't cry for them, so I was proud of him for that..However, he still doesn't love the little old people petting him!! When they would reach down to pet him, he would just kinda turn the other way! If I picked him up he did a little better..but its definately something we are going to have to work on..He also kept trying to hug the other dogs necks, and the Rottweiler, Emma, did NOT like that, so we'll also have to work on him not hugging the other dogs faces..I have no idea why he loves to do that. He did take a really cute picture by the Christmas tree though!! And he's soft.. lol..

Tomorrow Lynn & I are going to be at the Stockyards Rodeo Parade at the Corner of Agnew & Exchange in Cowtown..You should come out, because this is the one where they walk the Giant Longhorns down the middle of the road! Its very cool..It starts at 10am tomorrow..

Then of course tomorrow is my Delicious Trace Adkins..Yes, he is an awful interview, but he's a GREAT entertainer..I've probably seen him 10 times, but I love it everytime I go! HE's amazing, and that voice!! MM MM! Mom's coming up to go with me, and so is Lauren..It will be good times. Mom is also bringing up some delicious homemade Egg Nog! Woohoo! Have a great weekend!

Happy Thursday to you..

Well we went Rollerblading yesterday in the cold..WOOWEE..It WAS COLD. It made me rollerblade faster though because I was trying to get finished!! We did our mile and then called it a day!

I also made the dog-babes meatballs yesterday because when I'm training them I have to have very HIGH value treats so they will do what I want!! But then I also have to make the meatballs where I don't want to eat them, so I added liver bits to them..lol..Now I don't want to touch them! But Dang..they smell so good when coming out of the oven!! They worked too, because I got Sawyer to do his new "Bang! You're dead!" trick in like 2 seconds because he wanted that meatball so bad!! If you want to make them just take some hamburger meat, a little milk, cheese, and green beans and roll them up into a ball and put them in a cupcake tin for about 30 minutes..I promise your dogs will love them!! Plus they can be big or small because you can pull them apart.. So there ya go!

Today Sawyer & I are going to Sterling House in Edmond for a Therapy Visit. This is his first one so I'm hoping he tries to be a little more friendly. Sometimes he's just not interested in anything but himself!!

I'm already tired of TV right now..Since Dancing with the Stars everyone has been putting on crap TV. Last night they had Reruns of one of my Fav shows, "Modern Family" & "Cougar Town"..How can they already be reruns! The show just started not that long ago! Now I'll be forced to watch the ID channel and the 1099th episode of "Dateline".. haha! Some Saturdays I will watch that channel for 7 hours!!

Today I found out that when Men wear their shirts open where you can see their chests its called "Heavage"..Like Cleavage, but for a man its Heavage..And supposedly its making a comeback for Men to show a little chest hair..We'll see if it catch on in Oklahoma! Speakin of...Did you go see Sarah Palin today? I did not..There is no one (With the exception of the Lord) that I would wait outside in this weather to see.. Not Even My Delicious Otto..Sorry, James..

Woo hoo..Lost some weight!

Well I went to the Doctor yesterday and I have lost 18 pounds on my diet!! Woo hoo..I'm starting week 4 today, so I'm pretty happy about that.. See..ITs eating all that Sushi! lol.. I've also been walking, running, rollerblading over a mile, 7 days a week..So thats helpful too..I can't quit eating popcorn, or drinking wine, so I have to burn those calories some how!!

Yesterday I put the dog babes in their Christmas gear..As you can see, they are less than enthusiastic..I'll try to dress them up again later in the week, because I didn't get a good picture of Payslee's Santa Dress..Although Sawyer is pretty cute in his Santa hat, and Payslee's little smirk makes me laugh!!

Tomorrow I'm taking Saw to the therapy visit at Sterling house in Edmond..We'll see how it goes..Well it rained all night last night on the North Side..Hoping to steer clear of the sleet..Makes it hard to rollerblade!! If you haven't got the Gospel CD, they make great stocking stuffers..lol..Just click on the BUY NOW to get it..

23 Days till Christmas!!

One of my friends sent this to me yesterday and it just cracked me up!! It makes me think of Whiney Payslee!! Haha!!

Yesterday I found an awesome gift..It was a bottle of wine, and you could put a picture of YOUR dog on it..How great is that! So I was all jolly, until I realized they won't ship to Oklahoma! What is that about! We have strange liquor laws in this state.. So now thats OUT.

I'm getting excited about this weekend.. TRACE ADKINS! We'll be giving away front-row seats this week, so listen for your chance to win! We've also got the King Country Christmas Catalog going on at KKNG.com, its got a lot of goodies in it too!

I took Payslee to visit my Hospice friend yesterday. Payslee just loves Miss Dorothy! She waits for her to say its okay, then she jumps on her lap and waits for Miss Dorothy to pet her..Sawyer on the other hand, is not 'excelling' at the therapy work, but we have a visit scheduled for Thursday, so I'm going to take him and see how he does..He may just be suited for "Cuteness".. lol.. Have a good day!

Cyber Monday Fun for you..

If you are in the market for some Cyber Monday deals..Here's the website that tells you everything that is going on.. Cyber Monday.com I did get brave on Friday and go out..I didn't go a TON of places. I hit Bath & Body works, the Bookstore, Old Navy, & Petsmart..Petsmart had some amazing little Christmas goodies for the shih-tzu biscuits.. They had all their Christmas toys 1/2 off, and pet beds for $7, so I got a bunch of stuff for the babies, and for mom's dogs too..

We had a great Thanksgiving..My crazy grandma wasn't that crazy this year, and thats good because we were all on our best behavior since we had some 'strangers' over.. We had a family over that has not lived in OK very long, so we invited them over. We all had a good time..Sawyer played with his favorite friend, Izzy..and Payslee enjoyed just exploring around the farm. I'm always paranoid that a coyote is going to come into the yard and steal her away!! I'm so ridiculous..

Well I made the mistake of Going to Bedlam on Saturday.. It was fun, but I sure wish My Cowboys would have showed up to play..because I didn't see any of them there! I saw Pistol Pete's rosy cheeks, and thats about it..How embarrassing.. At least they are going to a bowl game!! Blargh.. I had fun at the game though..just not WATCHING the game.
Well I think the babes and I are going to have "Christmas Pictures" taken on Saturday at Northpark Mall..I'll let you know how it goes..

Bedlam, Turkey's, and Trees!

Well I broke down and just put up my Christmas stuff yesterday.. I know for some its too early, but I was about to Vaccum the house because the dogs kept dragging leaves into the house..so I figured why not just go ahead and vaccum the leaves AND glittler, so thats what I did..Its not a big tree, but I manage to get as much possible glitter on it as I can! You can barely see the branches or the lights!!

I didn't hang the outside lights, or put up the outside decorations..My neighbor has already put up red lights outside, but hasn't turned them on yet, so I still have time..I'll probably do that next week.

This year I am going to BEDLAM for the first time in my life! Its in Norman, and I have no idea what to expect..So Yesterday I made a trip to the "Store Divided" and bought some excellent OSU gear..I hope the weather is nice, and its a good time..and I don't get punched in the face.. Those are
all nice Thanksgiving thoughts.. lol.. I've never

even been in the Norman Stadium, so this could be quite entertaining with me picking the wildest game ever to make my first appearance too!

I'm headed to the farm for Thanksgiving today..Then I think Mom wants to come back up here on Friday to do a little 'Black Friday' shopping..Not sure how much we will get done with all the crowds and such, but it will be fun. I'm taking the dog babes home to the farm, and Payslee will wear her Thanksgiving dress.. As I write this and read it back to myself, I realize that I have officially become 'That guy' that puts clothes on her dogs..Dang. Oh well..I can't help it if she's so cute that she needs a dress for every occasion!! Mom has invited a family from California over for Thanksgiving, and I'm not sure if my Crazy Grandma is going to be there or not..If she is, I'll try to get audio!!

I'm so very thankful for all my blessings that God gives me everyday.. And I'm thankful that people actually care enough about my life to read this blog everyday..so thank you all for embracing me, and KKNG..We are always the most thankful for our amazing listeners that make us laugh everyday. Even Jimmy Ray Mohawk, and Tom who call us and tell us the most ridiculous stuff ever..We love that too! So thanks to all of you who help us do what we do everyday! Happy Thanksgiving, be safe!

Black Friday Deals

So this morning we talked about the place to find all the best Black Friday deals without having to leaf through all the circulars in the Newspaper.. Here's the website with all the info: BLACK FRIDAY DEALS It all in alphabetical order, and its very helpful!

Oh, and if you need something delish for your Thanksgiving Table go to www.cusackmeats.com I went yesterday and got myself the boneless Turkey Roast & Spiral ham!! MM MM!~

Seriously with the leaves..Are they ever going to go away..or blow away shall I say.. I see them each day.. hey hey hey.. Okay, enough with the rhyming..Anyway..(woops rhymed again).. They are all over my backyard, and for some reason the dog babes find them just facinating and fun to run and frolic about in, they chew on them, carry them into my house, get them in their hair..etc.. I'm pretty much tired of the leaves at this point..However, Sunday Payslee came into the house and I just had to take a picture of her..I call these, "Hannibal Lector Payslee Leaf Head"

She had them on her nose, in her hair, on her eyes! And it didn't seem to bother her! So yeah, I'll be glad when the leaves leave (get it)..haha.. My yard!

Watched Dancing with the Stars last night.. I still think the best Dancer is Mya, but I do hope Donny wins..He's just more fun than she is! They'll decide the winner tonight!!

By the Way if you haven't seen Paula Deen get hit in the face with a ham..Here's that..

Thanksgiving Monday

So James Ayers sent this to me yesterday. Apparently a little dog showed up on his porch yesterday, and he's never home, so he's trying to find it a home. He is part Chihuahua, and the vet believes him to be 8 months old. He has no microchip, and showed up with no collar. He is very timid, but appears to be a great little dog. If you can give him a home this Thanksgiving, email James at james.a@tylermedia.com. He's off this week, but he will be checking his email.

I had a great weekend of doing nothing but Watching Movies. Saturday Lauren & I went to see "Precious".. It was a movie that Oprah was raving about with the comic, Monique in it..but it is NOT a comedy, so don't go see it thinking that it is..Its a good movie, but VERY dark, and sad..Its worth seeing, but its a very DARK DARK movie..So If you are looking for something uplifting & Upbeat..This is NOT it..

Then after that one we went to see "The Blind Side" with Sandra Bullock & Tim Mcgraw..It was SOOO good! I'm serious..You have to go see this movie! Its uplifting, amazing, and based on a true story! You will probably shed a few tears, but its good tears, and it will make you feel happy that there are still some good people left in the world!

Afterwards we did a little Christmas shopping..The second I stepped into the mall there was an amazing Christmas smell permeating the air..The closer I walked to the movies..the stronger it got till I finally realized where it was coming from: Bath & Body Works!! So I went right up to the sales girl and asked which magical smell was burning. Well it was a candle called "Fresh Balsom".. MM MM MM!! It smelled just like Yummy Christmas tree winter magic!! So I went ahead and bought the oil to burn in my oil burner thingy, and the Wallflowers that plug into my Wallflower holder. Now my house smells like a Winter Wonderland!! We also walked by Victoria's secret where they had some really cute Velour Track suits..but some of the pants had words written on the butt.. Hello, I don't need someone reading words on my butt! I spend half the time trying to cover up my butt, so why would I write "JUICY" on it? I think if you look at it long enough maybe "JUICY" or "THICK" will come to mind..lol...

Can you believe a Year ago My little Payslee was just about ready to come home with me!! Now she's my beautiful, little shih-tzu girl!! Time flies!

I told this on the air this morning:
PHONES IN CHURCHES

A man in Topeka, Kansas decided to write a book about churches around the country.
He started by flying to San Francisco and started working east from there.

Going to a very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes. He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with a sign, which read "Calls: $10,000 a minute.."
Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to heaven and if he pays the price he can talk directly to GOD. The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he continued to visit churches in Seattle, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Milwaukee, and many cities and towns all around the United States, he found more phones, with the same sign, and the same answer from each pastor.

Finally, he arrived in Oklahoma, upon entering a church in OKLAHOMA CITY, behold - he saw the usual golden telephone.
But THIS time, the sign read "Calls: 35 cents" Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor, "Reverend, I have been in cities all across the country and in each church I have found this golden telephone and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to GOD, but in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads only 35 cents a call. Why?" The pastor, smiling broadly, replied, "Son, you're in OKLAHOMA now ... You're in God's Country. It's a local call."

Therapy Fun Friday

We had a therapy visit last night at The Fountains at Canterbury assisted living Center. Payslee went with two other dogs, Fudge, & Lilly..Fudge is a giant Chocolate Lab. His head is as big as Payslee's WHOLE BODY..Quite a size discrepency! The pic of them is soo cute! He's very sweet to her, and she tolerates him..Pays doesn't love hanging out with dogs bigger than she is, and when she is doing therapy work, she is on a mission to love on People, and thats pretty much it..We had a good time, not a whole lot of people, but she always enjoys visiting with anyone who will give her a little pet, or hug..

She also got a brand new dress in yesterday. Its her "Fall Leaves" dress, and this wonderful woman named Debbie hand makes them for her, and at such a good price! If you haven't seen her little dog dresses go to www.doggiedudsbydeb.com They are very reasonably priced, and she does SUCH a great job with them!! I already ordered Payslee's Christmas Dress!!

I didn't take Sawyer again..I know.. I know.. But I have been working with him about his crying when he can't play with other dogs, and he is getting better..I was trying to take pics of Payslee in her new dress, and Mr. Camera smiler hog kept jumping in the picture!!

This weekend I'm going to the movies..that I know for sure. I'm going to go see "The Blind Side" and "Precious"..I've been wanting to see them for weeks! I'm also sad about Oprah leaving, but excited that she will have her own Cable Channel..then I can watch.. All Oprah all the time!!

You all have a great weekend!!!

Sorry I haven't written since Monday..Wanna know why? BECAUSE I'M LAME!! lol.. Sorry, but its true..My body has rebelled against the time stage and I find myself in bed by 8:00 or 8:30! Its ridiculous I know.. but after the dogs and I walk or rollerblade we come in, have dinner, and then I want to take my bath, and hit the hay! Speakin of..Last night when I headed to the bedroom I had left my back door open so the babes could play outside, and it got too cold in there I guess, because my memory foam was as hard as a BRICK! It took it awhile to 'thaw' out.. lol..

However, Yesterday I did make the Meatballs for the dogs. I needed some really, tasty dog treats to motivate them when we are training..So I took some hamburger meat from the farm, cheese, milk, & Fish oil, and baked them some magic meatballs..they LOVE them! So thats good..They are a bit messy for treating, but it motivates them. Right now we are learning: Say your prayers, weave, Bang your dead, Peek-a-boo, and they are both still jumping through the hoop, and going to their spot..Each day we just add a little more to their training stuff..They are both doing very well..Sawey has "Bang your dead" down, and he rolls over and throws his puffy feet in the air.. Pretty cute..

Tonight Payslee & I are going to the Fountains at Caterbury, an assisted living center for a therapy visit. I'm hoping her new "Fall Leaves" dress comes in so she can play in that. The little ladies love it when she is dressed up! Her Santa dress should be in this week too.

So People Magazine revealed their 'Sexiest man Alive' issue, and once again Johnny Depp won the title..I'm not sure I buy into that..I'm going with Matthew.McConaughey, but others who made the list: Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Bradley Cooper, Robert Downey, Jr., David Beckham, Glee's Corey Monteith, Matthew Morrison and Mark Salling, Adam Lambert and Robert Pattinson from Twilight. Where is my Delicious Otto? My Trace Adkins? My Gary Allan? All SNUBBED AGAIN! Have a great day!

Farm filled weekend..and Welcome to Winter!

Well we went to the farm this weekend.. The dog babes had to go to the Groomer, and mom wanted to make eggnog so we left on Friday. We had a fun trip, and I manged to get a little Christmas shopping done! The dog babes were at the groomer most of the day Saturday, so I had a little time to run around and pick up a few gifts. The groomer always does such a good job with them..They look like little fluff-puffins! Of course they were "smiling" because they really do know that command..Mom was laughing at them because they smile on Cue. They had a fun time playing with Mom's Dog Izzy..or I guess I should say Sawyer did..Izzy is too big to play with Miss Pays now, and Payslee gets sick of her so she just asks me to pick her up so they can't get her..so I do. She's kindof a Princess anyway.

Saturday Mom made some eggnog. We have this secret, special, eggnog recipe that everyone just LOVES..so we made a big ol' batch to take to some friends. Then she made some homemade chicken and noodles and Payslee & Saw were very excited to have a little taste of that!! I also played mom's WII for the first time..HOW FUN! Although I didn't like it when I got on the WII fit and it let out a groan when I stepped on! WHAT! Then it makes you look all tubby.. lol.. Oh well..such is life..But I seriously don't need a video game to tell me I'm fat either! I hope Santa Clause is bringing me one though..its very fun to play..

Yesterday we went to look at some of our Show Calves that we raised. We have a Bull "Renegade" and two Heifers "Lydia" and "Lexus".. Lydia won Reserve GRand at the Kansas City Royal a couple of weeks ago (thats a big deal) and Renegade is going to show at the Denver Cattle Show.. Look how pretty they are!

They are all tied up in the Cooling room (A room with 3 air condidioners and 7 fans) until the Weather stays cold so they don't lose all that pretty hair..These are very pampered calves!!
Enjoy the Winter Weather!

Friday the 13th!

Welcome to Friday the 13th..Lynn told me today (in an article he was reading) that some of the most infamous serial killers have 13 letters in their names..Jeffrey Dahlmer, Charles Manson, Theodore Bundy..Well guess who's name has 13 letters in it? Yup..Kaysee Sheperd!! Hahaha!

I'm not very superstitious, but I did find a few things that are considered "Bad Luck"
Begin a new job or a trip
Cut off both ends of a loaf of bread
Flip your mattress
Put new shoes on the table
Leave your hat on the bed
Walk under a ladder
Pour water on a windowsill
Plant potatoes
Lean a broom on a bed
Open an umbrella indoors
Do housework
Wear new clothes
Cut your hair
Sneeze to your left side
Have a black cat cross your path

So be careful! Last night I took Payslee on a therapy visit to Sterling House in Edmond. She was wearing a lovely denim country dress and the little ladies just loved it! They kept wanting Payslee to dance, and she loves to do that, so they clapped and clapped for her..and they also love her to give them kisses, and she loves doing that too. She was a very good girl. I still haven't taken Sawyer, but I swear I'm going to eventually. He has now decided that he wants to learn tricks too, so now both He and Payslee are jumping through a hoop! They are silly biscuits.

With the leaves, and dry weather though they have been a little itchy, so my vet told me to give them some Children's Benadryl in a little syringe..Well it doesn't taste good, so I try to do it as quickly as I can..Well last night when Saw opened up his mouth I squirted it in, and I guess I shot some down the wrong Pipe!! He started coughing and hacking, and I felt so bad for doing it! Well he kept coughing around, and I finally just called my vet and asked if he was going to be okay..He said, Yes, but just like people, sometimes it will go down the wrong pipe and cause them to choke. He was fine about an hour later, but I felt like a bad dog Mom! Plus Sawyer is so pathetic looking when he is sad..he kept rubbing it in..lol..

Today we are all going to the farm to spend time with the family..I look forward to watching the babies play with their other dog friends. Have a great weekend!!

CMA Funtimes

Well I ended up getting to watch all the CMA's last night. I was supposed to go to church, but Lauren & I went to eat half-price Sushi at Buddah Tao, and for some reason it took them an HOUR to make, so we missed it..So I went on home to watch the awards. Here's a few of my personal "Highlights" in no order..
1) Zac Brown Band
2) Lady A
3) Sugarland
4) Daughtry & Vince Gill
5) Miranda Lambert

I thought Brad & Carrie did a great job hosting, and over all I thought the show was really good. Some of the performances were a little 'off'..but such is life with a LIVE show. This morning we took a lot of calls from People that said the awards show wasn't "Country" last night, but I personally believe there is a place for everyone in Country music. I mean back when Ronnie Milsap, John Denver, and Conway Twitty were on the top 40 charts crossing over into Country people said that they were not "Country".. and When Willie wore his hair too long, or Waylon acted like an outlaw they weren't "Country"..So I think thats the beauty of "Country" music..It transforms, it migrates, and it changes..and the beauty is that ITS ALL GOOD! Why worry about who's too this, or too that, and just like the good music? Because there is a ton of great music out there to listen to, and the one thing I've always loved about Country music is how loyal the fans are, and how they embrace their memebers and stand behind them..So thats my soapbox for the day! Hope you enjoyed the awards show!

CMA's on Tonight & Happy Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day to those Serving, and those who have Served before. I lost one of my favorite soldiers last year, Dick Johnson. He was a fighting Seabee in World War II, and my former Co-host..I miss him everyday. So thank you very much to all our Veterans.

So tonight the CMA awards are on..I won't get to watch the first hour till later, because I'm going to Church with Lauren. We are taking another great class at Crossings about putting the bible's words into your everyday life..And Its a really good class. It starts at 6:30, so I won't be home till around 8:00. I'll DVR the first hour though and watch it back. I know that Taylor Swift is opening the show, and there will also be performances by Jamey Johnson with Kid Rock, Vince Gill with Chris Daughtry, and Brooks & Dunn in one of their last performances together with ZZ Top. Should be a good show. As far as my picks go:
Entertainer of the year--Kenny Chesney
Female Vocalist--Carrie Underwood
New Artist--Darrius Rucker
Male Vocalist--Kenny Chesney
Song of the year--In Color
Album of the Year--Taylor Swift, Fearless
Single of the Year--Chicken Fried--Zac Brown Band

There are a few others, but those are the Majors. I'll be anxious to see how everyone 'sounds'.. You can always tell the great vocalists from the ones who need a little 'audio help'. I haven't heard what Sugarland is going to perform yet, but Jennifer Nettles always knocks it out of the park..When she sang "Stay" a few years ago, I couldn't tear my eyes away!!

Too bad that ONCE AGAIN Gary Allan & Trace Adkins got shut out..What a pile of crap. That always irritates me.. Well have fun watching the show, lets compare tomorrow and discuss!

Blue Suede Shoes for you.

Well hello.. Hope everyone had a good weekend..Mine was boring. I mean I had 'bits' of excitement, but overall..BORING. I did go and see the Movie "The Fourth Kind".. ITs about Alien Abudictions that 'supposedly' really happened in Nome, Alaska..but I think the PR company just made it all up, because we've never really heard anything about it before now.. but it was still pretty freaky. It was much better than Paranormal Activity! Its worth your money if you like Scary movies.

Other than that I just 'hung out'.. I took the dogs rollerblading, and to their field, and took my Halloween stuff down.. I didn't put up my Christmas stuff yet, but its on my to-do list..Lynn is thinking about switching to the LED lights this year, and I might too.. They are so bright! I did find the time to make this though:..see too much time on my hands.. lol..

Are you KC Sheperd? Who wants to Know?

Happy Friday!

I took Payslee on a Therapy Visit yesterday to the Assisted living center in Edmond. She had a good time visiting. She was wearing her Polka Dot Dress and the little ladies love that! I loved the little lady that told me my skin looked like a 20 year olds!! Woo wee! Gotta love it! I was supposed to take Sawyer, but I chickened out. .lol.. I know, I know.. but I knew he would cry to play with the other dogs, so I'm hoping to teach him a little restraint before I take him..But he will get to go, I promise.
I'm going to try to go see that movie that Jimmy Carter was talking about. Its called "The Blind Side" with Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw..He said it was really good, so I'm excited to go. Tonight I'll be at Taft High School for a broadcast with Channel 9 for the Football Game..Then tomorrow I'll be at the Quarterhorse Show from 2-4. I love seeing all those beautiful horses!
I am going to be on the Sunday Morning Gospel show with Lynn this Sunday Morning to talk about my CD. I finally finished it..Its called "KC Sheperd Gospel Greats" and its basically just my favorite Gospel Songs. I did two songs with my Dad, Kirby, and he did an awesome job. We sang "Amazing Grace" together and "Wish you Were Here" and then I put "I know Who Holds Tomorrow" on it, and thats a song I did for my Grandma Leona. It was her favorite, so that makes it special to me. Hope you all enjoy it..We have them here at the Radio station for $5 if you would like one..Have a great weekend!

Breakup Song Thursday

So this morning we were talking about songs that help you through a Breakup.. Is it wrong that I have FULL CD's with very colorful names like, "I Wish you were Dead" cd? Or How bout, "Shut your mouth you stupid idiot" cd..all full of Songs that make me feel better about the breakup. I even make them for other people when they are going through a breakup because I feel like Music heals the soul..So if you need one, hit me up, and I'll pass one along to you.. I don't really like "Woe as me" breakup songs, I'm more of a "Put this in your pipe and Smoke it" kinda gal. I need anger. lol. Here's a couple of my favorites:

1) A Little Gasoline--Terri Clark

2) Good as I was to you--Lorrie Morgan

3) Shut up & Drive--Chely Wright

4) Two Pina Coladas--Garth Brooks

5) Kiss This--Aaron Tippin

6) A Little Past Little Rock--Leeann Womack

7) Friends in Low Places (The LIVE Version)--Garth Brooks

8) Never Mind Me--Big & Rich

9) She Doesn't Dance--Mark McGuinn

10) What I need to do--Kenny Chesney

11) Cold one Coming on--Montgomery Gentry

So there's a few of my favs.. We had a TON of call this morning with folks listing some GREAT songs..

I'm going to take Sawyer to a therapy visit today. I'm nervous about it because there will be other dogs there, and Sawyer has a hard time focusing on the actual people, because he just wants to play with the other dogs! He gets his feelings hurt if he can't go play with the other dogs.. Its just ridiculous..but he's got to learn, so I'm going to go ahead and take him. His cuteness is over whelming, so maybe he will have fun being all puffish for people.
