Running with the Packs never been so good..

Sorry, that was a former Saying we used at Coyote Country 97.3 back in the Weatherford days..They always cracked me up.. Here's some more:

"Hootin & Howlin with all your friends..Coyote Country 97.3"

"Prowling in your radio, and playing more of your Fresh country hits back to back..Coyote Country 97.3"..

I used to LOVE saying those! They remind me of the first time I was ever on the radio and we had to say them verbatim..because when you are 'starting out' on the radio you aren't really allowed to just spew whatever you want out of your mouth..Thats what we call "Verbal Diarrhea".. lol.. Okay, enough with the trip down memory lane.. Oh wait..One more! Did I ever tell you about the time that I had to walk around with a Cork in my mouth and enunciate every word to try and get rid of this Okie twang? Yeah that really happened..However, it didn't get rid of it totally, then I moved to Texas for 2 years, and now I'm all "Texahoma" sounding.. Oh well, such is life..

Anyway, Yesterday was sweet Payslee's Birthday.. We had Party #1 for her. (We are having the 2nd party at the farm this weekend with her other dog friends.) I got her some Yogurt bones, Pupcakes, Chewies, Peanut butter drops, and some other little treats.. Of course Sawyer wanted them too so Payslee shared..However, Rally wouldn't really eat any because he is more of a Meat eater..but he still had fun. Pays was wearing her birthday dress and dancing around all jolly..As you can see in the pics, she and Sawey are happy little folks.

Tonight I'm going to my church class at Crossings..We only have 2 classes left! But I did find out that the bionic teacher will be teaching again, so I'm happy about that. I will take his class again.

Happy Birthday Payslee!

Today is my Sweet Girl's Birthday. Little Payslee was born today! I look back on the last year and all the fun and joy she has brought me and I smile.. I know that a lot of people don't understand that to me she is more than "Just a dog".. One of our listeners sent this to me and I loved it..

Just a Dog

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise." "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.

Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a human."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog." just smile, because they "just don't understand."

Happy Birthday Payslee!

What a fabulous weekend I had!

WEll I had an amazing weekend! Friday night was the "Big Show" meaning Boyz II Men at the State Fair.. I didn't think "Swine Flu Amy" was going to get to go, but she made it, and Lauren came along as well.. Brandon came along with Brady (his son) to take him on some rides at the fair, since he wasn't a big fan of the Boyz.. There were a TON of people at the show..More than I had ever seen at a show before.. We were standing on our chairs to see the stage because of all the folks..but the guys sounded AWESOME as usual.. Nate, Shawn, and Wanya sang all the hits, and some Motown too.. They can still dance and sing just like they could 20 years ago, and they have a new album coming out later in the year, so I'm excited about that.. You know, there are some bands and artists that you just never get sick of hearing!! Great time.. Thanks to Scott Munz and all the staff at the fair for making it such a fun event this year!

On Saturday I had a 'Shih-tzu Playdate' with some friends from my Shih-tzu chat room friends. I know it sounds bizarre to say that I have met people on the internet and met up with them, but we had been emailing each other back and fourth and knew it would be fun to have a playdate.. They were on their way to Balloonfest in New Mexico so they stopped in OKC to visit. They are from Kansas City and have a giant RV (Which Lynny would have loved) and two Shih-tzu's named Josie and Maddy..
I wasn't sure if Miss Snobby Payslee would play, but she did!
They all had the best time running, biting, barking and playing with each other! We let them play for awhile inside, and then we (John, Cathy & I) went to eat lunch at Toby Keiths.. They wanted to see the 'Best of OKC' so I had to give them that delicious Friend Balogna sandwich! So good.. and we got to set outside on the patio where it was absolutely GORGEOUS!
After lunch we took them to a giant field where they could run wild off-leash..They ran and ran.. and then Naughty Sawyer took them to his favorite place, The River.. Of course they got all muddy, wet, and awful looking.. Sawyer more than the others.. He looked like an awful tzu! But they were so happy, jolly, and TIRED at the end of the day. I was so glad they had such a great time together, and I loved John and Cathy too! I made some new friends, and so did Payslee & Sawyer.. That night we went to eat Sushi at Musashi's..mmm mmm so good!
Here is a picture of dirty, awful Sawyer.. Look how gross he is! But we had a great weekend! Sunday I pretty much did NOTHING. We had played all day on Saturday, so we were just wanting to stay home and hang out..so we played outside, and thats pretty much it..but Now I'm feeling much better about my Stranger Danger! And see.. I can meet Random people on the internet and have a great time! I just really didn't feel like people who had two cute tzu's were going to stab me and take my dogs.. lol..

Dang Ol' Swine Flu..

Well apparently everyone is getting the Swine flu now.. Hiss....Boo! One of my friends has it, a co-workers kid has it.. so Yeah, I've been exposed to it for sure.. but I'm hoping that Its going to leave me alone.. We took Bill's swine statues and placed them around the studio and came up with some nice Swine Studio Pics.. Here Some Facts about the Swine from the CDC:

Update – Swine Flu/H1N1 Influenza A

There is no cause for alarm, but we should remain cautious, informed and be responsible for how we conduct ourselves. While we should certainly go about our daily lives, there are several very simple steps we can take to make sure we are limiting our exposure and that of our co-workers.

What are the signs and symptoms of swine flu (in humans)?

Swine flu symptoms are similar to the symptoms of regular seasonal flu and include fever greater than 100 degrees, coughing, sore throat, body aches, headaches, respiratory congestion, chills and fatigue. There are some reports of diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with swine flu infection in humans. Like seasonal flu, swine flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

What should I do if I develop flu like symptoms?

First and foremost, the CDC is recommending that you not come to work. If you exhibit these symptoms outside of work, please do not come to work until you have spoken with your doctor. If you experience these symptoms at work, please inform your manager and leave work.

What can I do to protect myself from getting sick?

The vaccine to help protect against swine flu is currently not available for Gill Studios to offer to its employees. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza. Take these steps to protect your health and the health of others:

• Wash your hands often and thoroughly with soap and warm water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

• Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue. Properly dispose of used tissues. Do not reuse tissues.

• Stay healthy by eating a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water and getting adequate rest and exercise.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.

• Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

• If you get sick with influenza, the CDC recommends that you stay home from work and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

• You might also consider getting vaccinated for the "seasonal influenza".

Last night I went to my church class "The Last Days" at Crossings.. It did not disappoint! It was soo good again. I'm going to be sad when its over, which is next week. I'm hoping that same teacher will teach another class. He is bionic, so I'm going to try to take whatever classes he teaches. I also went and had Sushi with Lauren & Shelly.. I got Shelly to go to class with me, but Lauren skipped out again.. Amy didn't get to go either because she's at home with the Swine flu.. She may not make it to Boyz II Men! Mom's now backed out of Boyz II Men too, seems as if someone out in Western OK is having a 'cooler' party than me! Boot..

Well tomorrow we'll be at the Braums in Moore, I-24 & 12th street.. So if you want a 93 cent Sausage biscuit, come on by.. See ya there!

Way Back Wednesday.. Not really.

Why is it that I am not motivated to finish my remodeling projects? I'm supposed to be finishing my bedroom, yet I cannot.. I get to doing something else, and then forget what I'm supposed to be doing..then Dancing with the Stars comes on..then I'm tired.. But seriously, my mom is coming up Friday so I have to get it done..

Speaking of Dancing with the Stars.. How bout Kellie Osbourne! I was proud of her too..and it made me so happy to see her parents, Ozzy & Sharon crying and loving her in the audience.. IT was too cute! I wasn't impressed with anyone else really..I kinda think the guys are better so far. Maybe the ladies will kick it up a notch later or something because they were NOT that impressive last night.

So we found out yesterday that some folks in our office have had contact with people who have the "SWINE" flu.. So now Lynn, Bill & I have convinced ourselves that we totally have the Swine Flu.. Even though we have zero symptoms..I have an overactive imagination, so thats not helpful. From what I understand though, if adults get it..while it does suck..its not as critical as if children get it. I called my mom and told her about it and she said, "Well if you get it you are coming home" and I said, "Why?" and she said, "Because at the farm we have the oink-ment!".. Gotta love my mom!

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

So my dear Friend Amanda went to the Dog boutique, Paws around Town, and got me (or Shall I say Miss Payslee) two little dresses.. They were aDOGable.. but They didn't fit her, so yesterday we took them back and got these tasty little numbers.. The first one is a cute little 'Cherry' Dress.. It has glitter cherries on the back.. As you can tell from her smiling face, she is very jolly about her new purchase..

The 2nd dress is a classy Denim number with a Cross shirt, and Denim Mini Skirt.. This one was also very Cute, and Miss Payslee also liked this one..although she did say that the Cherries was her favorite..
So there you go! You can be the judge of what is the cutest..She is quite a little model.
Yesterday we went rollerblading in the nice cool weather.. I also plugged in my Candle Thingy that burns the "Scentsy" candle pod dealies.. I apologize for not knowin the names of these things, but I think you get my point.. Anyway, this particular scent was Cranberries and Sandalwood..MM MM..It smelled up my house so fast! It was yummy! I love the Scentsy stuff..
This Friday is the Boyz II Men show at the State fair, and I think Mom is going to come up and watch the show with me.. She has never seen Boyz II Men live, and I think I've seen them 6 times.. lol.. I do love them! Thankie to Scott for giving us VIP tickets so Now I can see Nate, Shawn, and Wanya up close and personal! Bill brought up a good point the other day which is that they are not really "Boys" anymore.. I get that.. But they will always be Boyz II Men to me!!

Happy Birthday To us!

I had a great birthday weekend! I went home on Friday and mom and I got things ready for the big birthday party on Saturday..I could not have asked for better weather! It was so pretty on Saturday..We got up early to help Steve move farm Machinery first off, and then spent the rest of the day getting ready for party-time fun.
The farm is just beautiful this time of year, and mom does a great job land-scaping, so everying is blooming and green.. Its fabulous, and very relaxing..Everyone loves coming out there to relax.
We set up the Volleyball net, but we didn't have the lights set up, so we only played one game, but we did have a great time just talking and hanging out. Steve made ribs again, and we had some delicious Hotlinks and Polish Sausage from Cusack meats! Yummy!

The dogs had a great time too.. AT my party there were 8 total, as Shelly brought her dog too, and they all had a funtime playing. I had some delicious cake, and got some awesome gifts from my friends. Ellen Johnson gave me a Microphone that my friend, Dick Johnson had used, and that meant so much to me..I was so happy to be surrounded by awesome family and friends. Thanks to everyone for a great birthday and all the wishes!

Jamey Johnson Friday Fun

Well last night I had a good time at the State Fair..although it was Dollar night so it took me a good 45 minutes to get parked..Lots of folks..There were a TON of people at the show as well, and the Rain held off.. I talked to Jamey about our magic moment last year at the Wormy dog, and surprisingly he remembered it! I'm telling you, its because we talked about The Oak Ridge Boys, and the Oaks make everyone happy and jolly..
I went to a fabulous lady yesterday, Nicky, at "Changes Hair Salon" in Edmond.. (See how lovely my hair is in the above pic)..To get my hair cut/colored. She did an amazing job, and as you all know, hair care is a BIG deal to me, because I really only LOVE my eyelashes, hair and....well, thats for me to know.. lol.. To see More of the Jamey Johnson pics from last night.. Click HERE.
I'm headed to the farm this weekend for my Birthday Party. We are having a bunch of folks out or Volleyball, Smores, Cocktails, and fun! I'm excited to spend some time at the farm with my family and friends.. You all have a fabulous weekend..I'll report on Birthday Events Monday!

Its still raining..and I STILL love it!

I had a great day yesterday! Payslee and I decided to have a "Girls Day Out" and we went shopping at the "Market" up by Quail Springs Mall. I put her in a little shopping cart wearing her Polka Dotted Dress, and we went shopping.. Everyone loved her! They stopped to greet, and pet her, and she danced around.. She loved it! Then we went to see my little Hospice lady, but Payslee was a little tired after the shopping, so she just said hello, and then rested..

Then I went to my class at Crossings called "The Last Days".. it was so good again last night! We've got two more weeks of it, and I was excited to know that they are recording it,because so many people have asked me that..They want to get the tapes, so when they are available I'll pass along the information. Its such an amazing class, and the Pastor who is teaching it is bionic smart, which makes it even better!

Tonight I'm headed to the State Fair to take some listeners to see Jamey Johnson. I won't get to stay for the whole show, but I'm excited to see him again. I don't think its going to rain on us, should just be a fun night. Today I'm going to a new hair lady, and I'm always excited to get my hair fixed!

Watched "America's Got Talent" last night for the Finale..and all I've got to say is, What a load of crap! Kevin Skinner over the Texas Tenors! NO WAY! Or over Barbara Padilla, the Opera lady! NO WAY! Sorry to be a sore loser, but I see so many great talents pass through the radio station that have amazing singing abilities, and talents and they still don't 'make it' so I'm pretty disappointed in those results!! I am however, excited that all the new Fall Lineups on TV are starting! Hooray!

I've had the time of my life..

Sad that Patrick Swayze passed away yesterday at the age of 57. I loved all of his movies, especially "Dirty Dancing".. I remember when it first came out my mom said I couldn't watch it..but my friend Tamara was watching it at HER house so I got to see it.. And after that I bet I watched it 400 times! I love dance movies! Pancreatic cancer is so awful. I lost my amazing grandma, Leona, in 1999 from Pancreatic Cancer. They gave her 6 months to live, and we lost her 6 months later.. Broke my heart, and still breaks my heart.. So I'm so sad for his family and friends.

The Kanye West madness seems to be continuing. I watched him apologize on Leno last night.. Some say he did made the mean comments to Taylor because he had been drinking, but thats no excuse to me..I'm glad he did apologize, but I still think he's a jerkface for ruining her moment. Its just uncalled for.

Last night was just a beautiful, cool evening..I couldn't help it, I put out my Halloween stuff! I know its early, but it just 'felt' like Halloween! So I put all that out..I didn't get everything out, but quite a bit. I love Halloween fun! Then the dogs were all antzy, so we decided to rollerblade. They RAN the whole way, for a whole Mile! They had lots of energy with this cool weather..Since I think the rain is over, I'm going to give them a bath today or tomorrow, as they are still mud heads.. In case you've ever missed the magic of rollerblading 3 shih-tzus. .here ya go!

Justin Moore sang LIVE on our show today and it was freaking Awesome..So if you missed it, Here ya go: JUSTIN MOORE LIVE
We're also giving away Jamey Johnson tickets & Meet & Greets for the next few days, so get ready to win!

They Made it!

Well the Biscuits passed! They are officially therapy dogs! They took their test and passed with flying colors.. Well Payslee did anyway.. Sawyer was hit & Miss for awhile, but finally pulled it together!

The whole thing was kinda funny..first it was a rainy day so the babes looked like Mud heads.. Then there were a bunch of other dogs there, so while I was testing with Payslee, Sawyer was playing with his new friends having a Ball! Well when Payslee was finished, and I went out to get him, he was like, "NO! I want to keep playing!".. So it took ahwile to get him to understand that we were actually taking a TEST!

Then While Sawyer and I were in the testing room, Payslee had to stay with some of the other testing ladies and the other dogs.. Well when we were about 1/2 way through the test, I look over out of the corner of my eye and Payslee had escaped! She was running as fast as she could to the little house I was in..then she jumped in the window like, "Hi mama! Found you!".. lol. So thankfully the testers found it hilarious! So it was all good.. They now are already getting ready for some visits to the nursing homes in Edmond.. Yay!

Friday night I went to the Sugarland Show. We missed the Meet & Greet with Billy Currington though, we thought it was at 8:15, and they moved it to 6:40 without telling us..so we were sad about that. There were also a million people there..Okay, maybe not a million, but I'd guess around 10,000..No where to sit, and people wall to wall.. Sugarland and Billy Currington put on a good show. I took Pics, but forgot to bring them, so I will post them tomorrow..

Saturday Night I went to Iron Star BBQ with Brandon, Amy & Lauren..MM MM MM! So Good! We love that place! I did watch Serena Williams go crazy on the Line judge..that was quite entertaining.. and they say Tennis is boring!

Then Kanye West being rude to Taylor Swift last night during the MTV-VMA awards..what an idiot..He always is trying to do something to get publicity, whether it be negative or positive..What a moron..

Sugarland Friday

Hi Everyone! We got a good rain last night on the Northside.. No storms, just a good rain.

Also, you will notice (to the left) that Payslee's new Birthday Dress came in yesterday..She was pretty excited about it. Payslee turns 1 on Sept 29th, and I'm going to be having a little birthday party for She and Sawyer. Sawyer's Birthday is Oct 10th, so we'll have a "Dual" party.. Payslee also got a new dress that is Navy Blue with a big Red Bow.. Of course they have the "D" ring on them so tecnically I can say they are "Harnesses" and not be one of those odd people that put clothes on their dogs!

I'm going to Sugarland/Billy Currington tonight with Lauren..Hope it doesn't rain until AFTER the Meet & Greet with Billy..I dont want my hair to look all Ruiny..lol.. Tomorrow Payslee & Sawyer take their therapy certification test.. Wish them luck! Here's the MOM Stuff from this morning..they are cute!

Thirsty Thursday..No not really..

I had a great time at my church class again last night, although it was a little entertaining trying to get there.. Amy went with me and we wanted to take her sons, Brady (who is 5) and Anderson (1) with us.. Well according to Amy its much harder to travel with two boys, as opposed to me who is traveling by myself..Which I totally understand, so I was trying to be helpful..However, even thought I attend Crossings on a regular basis, I do not frequent the childrens wing, or the nursery.. For thos of you who have never been.. Crossings Church is HUGE!!!So we go to try and check in..and 3 buildings later, and Amy about to die from carrying Anderson the whole way, (We didn't bring his stroller because we didn't anticipate having to walk that far) we eventually found Brady's drop off, and Anderson's nursery..

Well even though it took a bit to get there, we enjoyed the class so much. Its called "The Last Days" and its taught by a man who is truly bionic when it comes to teaching.. Afterwards we went back to pick up the boys, and they had a great time! Score! So I think next week we will plan better, (with a stroller) and it will make for a much easier trip on Amy! lol.. But we did have a great time. And now we know the "Procedure"..

Still working on the bedroom remodel.. why, why, why, did I start that project??

KNIGHT--MARE!

I'm so sorry I have been absent!!

Well Hello! I hope everyone had a great labor day! I have been a slacker in updating my blog over the holiday, and then yesterday I just forgot what I was doing..so for that I aplogize!

I had a great weeekend. Saturday I went to see "All about Steve" and it was just awful. I thought it would be better, but it wasn't..They made Sandra Bullock all weird.. Me no likey.. But I was at the Warren, which I do likey.. a lot.. Then went and hung out with Brandon & Amy at their house for some 'deep thoughts'. Amy made guacamole, which always makes me happy! So it was good times..

I decided over the weekend that I would go to Bed, Bath & Beyond..WHY WHY WHY! I never go there...Now I know Why, because you will spend a TON of money if you do! So I went there and got some fabulous new bathroom stuff.. Well of course since I was redecorating my bathroom..it just would'nt look good if I didn't redecorate my bedroom too!! So thats what I spent my time doing! However, Handy, I am not.. I cut my hand so bad at one point it was gushing blood everywhere and I had to wrap it in a towel! I also broke several things, but such is life.. I'm still not done..I am done with the bathroom, but my bedroom is taking forever.. It was done all in bright colors before, and now I'm going with more neutral colors, so I'm having to paint everything.. Blargh.. Why did I decide to do this! lol..

I tried to upload pictures today, but blogger is not letting me, so I'll try again tomorrow.. I took the dog babes to a magical field this weekend, but Sawyer jumped into the river and got all messy..then he kept just running up and down the river like a little mud dog.. Sometimes I really do think he is part Lab.. lol.. Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Thursday, September 3, 2009

Well Hello Thursday..

So Last night I went to an AMAZING class at my
church (Crossings Community Church) about the "Last Days" and whether or not we are in the midst of them.. Last night we learned about the Nation of Islam. I never knew anything about them, or why they hate the US so much, so it was VERY interesting to learn and understand. Its a 6 week course, and this is week 2..I love it! I am such a nerd that I love learning about new things, so I'm excited to go each week..Last night Lauren was supposed to go with me, but she had to go to her Grandma's birthday party, but I was okay to go by myself..

Today I am going to record a duet with my dad for my upcoming "Sophomore" album as Lynn calls it..We are doing a song called "Wish you were Here"..and it really makes me think of my grandma Leona, so I hope we both can make it through it! The CD is almost finished.. I told Lynn we should have a CD Release Party, and he laughed at me!! lol..

After we record we are going to get my Brother Grant and have a delcious lunch.. Loving the weather.. ITs a great day!

Blonde Jokes, and Lynn's Marriage

Well yesterday Bill & I did the whole show on a 'rumor' that we had heard in the office cube-farm that Lynny was getting engaged in California.. Not sure if it was the wildfires in Cali had anything to do with this rumor running wild or not..but ACCORDING to LYNN he is still a single man.. Now whether or not that means he DID get engaged, and just not Married, or something else, I'm not sure.. He's a very private man, which is why Bill & I have to make stuff up all the time.. lol. I'll keep you posted on this.. Hey, thanks to Ellen who sent me a fabulous Blonde Joke..here it is:
A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, "Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get started."

Her boyfriend asks, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?"

The blonde says, "According to the picture on the box, it's a rooster."

Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle.

She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.

He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says,

"First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster."

He takes her hand and says, "Second, I want you to relax. Let's have a nice cup of tea, and then," he said with a deep sigh. .. .

"Let's put all the Corn Flakes back in the box."

Yesterday I went to the field to try and work with Sawyer on his therapy class stuff.. He would not do ANYTHING I asked him to do.. I'm thinking he might fail at this point.. He thinks he can get by on his 'good looks' but I keep telling him that he MUST learn the commands, or he is not going to get to go visit people for therapy.. We'll see what happens..When I say "Down" he just smiles at me.. I know he knows how to lay down..because he has perfected the pose in this picture..
Meanwhile Payslee just lays down and looks at him like "You'd better do it Mister".. yet he does not.. They go for their test on Sept 12..I feel confident that Miss Pays will do well, but not so Confident about Sawey..We'll keep working on it though!
